E11 - Production Blogs

September 24, 2024   This week we got sorted into our bands that we will be performing with for the live performance. Each band had a minimum of 3 members to make sure that we cover the main bases of a band (Vocal, drums, bass, and guitar). After we got the bands sorted out we decided what songs these bands will do so we sat in the classroom and picked 3 songs from each decade form the 1950s all the way to the 2010s , this was the theme because it garneted that whomever was listening to the performance would have a song that they would like due to the wide range of music that we played . Then we went through and shared them with the class and we had a discussion on whether the song was appropriate to be played at the college, if it would please the audience, (Our audience being all ages) if it is playable in terms of the techniques and skills that are needed to be able to play that song, how it would fit into the set list and if we are able to pull it off will it sound good. September 23, 2024   This week I went over the roles of a show, more specifically the pre-show and live show roles. I went over what each role was and what they do, I also researched on why they are needed for the pre-show and live show. The roles I covered for the pre-show are; Advertiser, Event Manager, Recruiter, Box Office, Event Planner, Health and Safety Operative. The roles I covered for the live show are; Stage Manager, Performer, Guitar Tech, Sound Tech, Light Tech, Stage Crew.   Here is what each role that we discussed entailed;     Pre-show   ·           Advertiser - they will make sure that the event is populicide enough to the public to make sure that there is a decently sized audience for the performers so that the event will make money.
